Global share markets made further gains in October after US politicians successfully avoided a catastrophic government default and the US Federal Reserve once again delayed the tapering of its quantitative easing program.
Meanwhile, the Australian share market rose for a fourth consecutive month, commodity prices weakened and the Australian dollar continued its advance against its US counterpart.
